EFRC Funding Was Removed From 2011 Budget

I attended the EFRC Summit in Washington on May 25th to hear many great presentations on the existing 46 EFRCs.  I also learned that the intended "New Materials Synthesis and Crystal Growth" EFRC was removed from the 2011 budget and was not in the 2012 budget.  Therefore we are taking a new approach that will involve this blog and commercial websites with funding from other sources.  I will be more attentive to this blog than I was during the budget crises of the past year.  The vision for a website that enables the collaboration between sample suppliers and material characterizers and device developers and systems manufacturers that protects intellectual property is still my goal as recommended by the NRC in the NAP book on the left side of the screen.  You can get your own electronic copy of this book free from NAP.  Leave you comments here after you have read it or reply privately.  Best regards, dave
